The Background
“Because I said so” → silence.
Most personal-safety lessons reach children as warnings shouted after the fact — a raised voice, a pointed finger, a rule recited instead of explained. Children nod along without truly understanding what "right" and "wrong" feel like from the inside.
Pickie is an early-childhood safety-education card game (ages 3–7) built around a soft, expressive mascot family. Instead of lecturing, it gives children a vocabulary of feelings — fear, vigilance, grievance, excitement — so they can name what they feel and choose how to respond, together with a parent.
